Velaphi Mamba (Swaziland): With every night, comes a day. With every Day, follows a night. And so life moves forward towards an unknown destiny. As the sun moves, as the rays glide over the mountains, as the rains rour in the deep African jungeles and upcoming cities and towns. The spirit of change, of hope, of brotherhood and sisterhood, The Spirit of Love and Freedom beckons: It comes to Joss; it comes to Mbabane, to Gaborone and Windhoek; to Nairobi and Kampala it comes. The spirit and force of Freedom and Democracy is Alive; and, The African Youth are its Bearers and Custodians! Michelle: Listening to the AfriCamp song..,lyrics are deep and the spirit of the Youth AfriCamp keeps resonating in my heart. I pray that AfriChange is the African Youth Movement that will change and build a better Africa. Simon: Finally I get to add me to this list. I will like to say it was good meeting all of you at the camp. It was a lay back time for me to enjoy people. I had fun, I learned, I explored on my own and I think I like Keyan --- I will be back! Ronald: Link to AfriCamp photoes from Noel: http://www.noelsphotos.com/International-Debate-Education/AfriCamp-2010/11598746_zZYWo#818323482_cqrYQ Mohamed Kanneh: Friends, The meeting I informed you about today based from calls received was held successfully. Unfortunately, only 19 people attanded and of the 19, 3 were female (Youth) and 7 male (Youth). The rest were above the youth age described in the African Youth Charter. Mohamed Kanneh: Colleagues, Based on the frequent calls I have received from the day the Africamp was captured on the Salone and International news and the my radio discussion programmes, I have decided within a short time to have a meeting today March 25, 2010 at 2:00pm with colleagues of the Civil Society and other youth activists here in Freetown to discuss especially on the African Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance and our up coming 2012 elections have started posing threats. I will also be having a radio programme tomorrow at the Sky Radio “Youth Now” programme at 8:00pm (and may be with one participant today’s meeting) Sorry if I may not be going strictly in line with my Plan of Action developed in Lukenya. Regards. precious: hi guys miss all of you hope to see you again Ngabire: Gr8t Song. Gr8t job y'all! Ronald: Check this: http://siku-moja.blogspot.com/2010/03/youth-africamp-2010-at-lukenya-gateway.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+blogspot/pRwc+(A+Nairobian's+Perspective+!) Mohamed Kanneh: Great to see the AfriCamp song on the website. I hope it will be translated to local languages of the various countries. Hope to seeing more and more AfriCamps and AfriCampers Emmanuel: I can't stop listening to the song - i guess it will not only an Africamp hit but a continental one. Thanks who ever made an input Mohamed Kanneh: Dear colleagues, friends, leaders awaiting, love ones of Africamp, and all Some of you may have heard or over heard me during the Africamp saying “I don’t sleep that’s why I don’t dream”. This statement by me had been a literary speech and thus not wanting to say exactly what and how I was feeling as a Youngman who believes in African tradition during the AfriCamp. The fact remains, two weeks before the AfriCamp, I dreamt having a plane crash. A week later, I dreamt one of my mentors in youth activism also having a plane crash. On the very day of departure, I had a call from two of my brothers; one telling me he dreamt of blood spinning over me whilst my mum was crying. The other also whilst at the Lungi International Airport in Sierra Leone called me and told me to pray before departing to Kenya (friends who I shared this with, can you remember what I told you guys?). Honestly, I decided canceling my flight to the AfriCamp but having the belief that dreams are far from reality, I had no alternative but to travel. Thank God I am back in Sierra Leone with the good image of the AfriCamp still in my mind. Friends, this had been the reason for my statement which others have perceived to be joke. Being back home, I have the pleasure to inform you all that in keeping in line with my plan of action developed in Lukenya, certain confirmations had been made especially with the media consultation/engagement thus, instead of 26th March to 2nd April 2010, the new timeline is now 22nd March to 2nd April 2010. Apparently, yesterday Monday 22 March 2010, the AfriCamp was captured on the Sierra Leone and International News, on the Radio Democracy 98.2 at 7:00pm which was repeated at 9:00pm. Today also, I had an interview on the “waetin dae bi” (current Affairs) programme from 7:00am to 8:00am which was later followed by phone calls by listeners. Confirmation has already been made for a radio discussion programme with me on the AfriCamp at the Sky Radio 106.6 “Youth Now Programme” on Friday 26th March 2010. Though I was alone from Sierra Leone, I can as well confess that I was not lonely as the AfriCamp to me seems like breaking cultural, regional and tribal barriers especially with the retentive memory of the Bush Dinner. Hope this information sounds well. Congo team arrived well Velaphi Mamba (Swaziland): Young people from my continent, soon, very soon, Swaziland shall become part of the living nations of this great land, Swaziland shall join the ranks of the democracies of today. Through our collective effort we shall transform this little autocracy into the envy of many. And, at the end of it all you shall have contributed by being part of the great Africamp 2010! There is no existing force so powerful than one whose time has come! Swaziland's time has come, POWER TO THE PEOPLE! Ivan Atuyambe-Uganda: Hi Africhangers, There are some people who want things to happen but never cause them to happen. Let us cause things to happen. We can change Africa esther (zim): miss you all you people!!! Hope Kyarisiima: "A candle loses nothing of it's flame by lighting another" - please infuse your peers and colleagues with the energies, passion and commitments harnessed during africamp 2010. elizabeth: the NAIJA team arrived safely...look forward to implementing our action plans....letz keep it intercontinental guyz! |
