No More Christmas?
http://www.thepeoplespeak.org, http://www.idebate.org A comic film about the ramifications of global warming. The UN Foundation's The People Speak (TPS) and the International Debate Education Association (IDEA) are holding a global forum on Climate Change for TPS 2008-2009. Open to all high school students around the world, to debaters and non-debaters, to budding activists, burgeoning journalists, photographers, artists, directors, and anyone who is interested in environmental responsibility, TPS 2008/2009 is a great opportunity for high schools around the world to engage in social/environmental awareness and action, with prizes that include trips to the 2009 United Nations Summit and free IDEA membership. Participating in TPS 2008/2009 is an easy way for schools, teachers, and schools to enhance their environmental responsibility profile, to earn TPS points and prizes, and to have their schools recognized for their environmental efforts. For individual students, TPS 2008/2009 is a great way to demonstrate skills that bridge classroom studies with the real world. Students applying to colleges and universities can enhance their applications by participating in TPS, a respected campaign that is educational, creative, and socially responsible. Plus, with opportunities to create Public Service Announcements (PSAs) and other material, TPS 2008/2009 is also a chance for young directors, artists, photographers, and journalists to have their work displayed on the global stage.
