Asociace debatnich klubu - Debate Clubs Association is a non-governmental, not-for-profit civic association. Established in 1999, the Association seeks to promote active self-education, free speech and values of tolerance among young people in Czech Republic. In order to achieve its goals the Association has been organizing trainings for teachers in debating and deliberative education, public debates on issues of societal importance involving young people.
Eesti Vaitlusselts - Estonian Debating Society (EDS) is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting ideals of social dialogue, free speech, democracy and human rights. To fulfil this mission, Estonian Debating Society offers training and education on critical thinking, rhetorics, argumentation and public speaking. EDS also organises various speech and debate tournaments, public debates and a debate summer camp to offer young people an opportunity to practice their communication skills.
SO Debasu Cent - Debate Centre was established in 1994 with the support of the Soros Foundation Latvia. In 1998 it registered as a non-governmental and non-profit public organization. The centre coordinates debate activities of youth debate clubs in seven regions of Latvia (in Liepaja, Kuldiga, Bauska, Riga, Valmiera, Daugavpils and Preili), organises national debate tournaments and involves young people into the international debate movement. It organizes youth debates in Latvian, Russian and English.
Human Rights Education Associates (HREA) is an international non-governmental organisation that supports human rights learning; the training of activists and professionals; the development of educational materials and programming; and community-building through on-line technologies. HREA is dedicated to quality education and training to promote understanding, attitudes and actions to protect human rights, and to foster the development of peaceable, free and just communities.
Slovenska debatna asociacia - founded on November 17, 1999, the Slovak Debate Association is Slovakia’s only debate education program. Currently, the debate program is present at more than 20 secondary schools and 2 universities in Slovakia, amounting to a total of more than 450 members. Activities of the Association include: English Debate League, participation in the IDEA Youth Forums, World Schools Debating Championships, university-level tournaments, Model United Nations conferences, communication, advocacy and soft skills trainings, etc.
IDEA Inc. and the Dutch registered IDEA are separate organizations that
operate independently yet cooperate informally with each other. This
website, a joint presentation, is intended to promote both
organizations' interests while maintaining their respective
independence.
