IDEA General Assembly 2008
 
 
Dear Members of IDEA,

The General Assemly of IDEA will take place in Amsterdam this year on the 5th and 6th December.

The 1st day of the assembly will be dedicated to IDEA Business and will include the following items:
  1. Presentation of the annual report - 2007-2008
  2. Presentation of the financial situation of IDEA - financial report 2007-2008
  3. Presentation of the budget for 2008-2009
  4. Discussion of the current projects including the Forum
  5. Presentation of the Forum bids 2010, possibly 2011 and GA bids
  6. Elections
  7. Miscellaneous issues
On the second day we will provide you with the opportunity to participate in the IDEA Exchange and make presentations about different aspects of your programs and organizations.

GA delegate are also welcome to arrive a day earlier to participate in the 1st day of IDEA Exchange on the 4th of December. IDEA will cover the costs of 2 nights of your stay in Amsterdam for one GA member per organization.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Amsterdam in December. Please confirm your participation in this event to mzaleski@idebate.org by the 1st November at the latest. If you require a visa for entering the Netherlands, please send me your passport details as well as information on where and how to send invitation letter to you as soon as possible in order to speed up your visa process.
 
  Election to the Board of Directors
 
One of the items of the agenda for the General Assembly Meeting on December 5th this year is elections to the Board of Directors. According to the amendment made to the IDEA statutes regarding the "staggered term" of the members of the Board, the GA needs to elect new members to the Board this year.

According to the Internal Regulations of IDEA (Article II, Section 3 (B)) The Board of Directors has nominated nominations committee to oversee the nomination procedure before the elections. The committee is composed of three members: Chris Baron, Rene Brinda and Katrin Viru.

The Exchange will be between 4th and 6th of December and it will take place in Mozeshuis: www.mozeshuis.nl. The GA will take place in the same venue on the 5th -6th December.

We have booked spaces at two hotels near the GA and Exchange venue: the Bridge Hotel (www.thebridgehotel.nl) and Hotel Nes (www.hotelnes.nl).

They are comparable in price and will charge around 60 Euro per person per night in double rooms. The Bridge Hotel has 3 triple rooms for a slighly lower price. IDEA will cover the costs of stay for the 2 nights for GA members and we have limited funding opportunity for presenters from the EU at the Exchange (please contact mzaleski@idebate.org for details).

If you would like us to book you space in one of above hotels, please send your arrival and departure information with the request to book you a room by no later than 7th of November to mzaleski@idebate.org .

You are of course welcome to make your own accommodation arrangements in Amsterdam.
