Your role at the event

  • Teach in the first day before the KPDC (July 24)
  • Judge at the KPDC (KP Debate Championship) July 24 – 27
  • Teach in the Tracks section of the event (July 28-August 5)
  • engage in discussions with students after the official sessions are over (there is so much you can learn from each other mutually)
  • actively participate in the evening program – be active in initiating one too
  • Be the right role model for the students - your role does not end upon leaving the classroom
  • engage in the discussion with the students before the Forum, so as to actually help them with preparation before the event (for the Championship)
  • preparation (called Training of Trainers: TOT) for the KPDC and Tracks section – more information below and as we go

Training of trainers:

The online phase of training of trainers will take place from March to June
the BP and CJT trainers will work for majority of time on their own – as these are very small groups – 3-4 trainers
The mixed team track will work as one big group, occasionally divided into smaller groups for the preparation of materials before the Youth Forum. Additionally the trainers will be paired up with the lab partners (other trainer) later on as we work.

The face-to-face phase will take place from July 21st -23rd
2 days of training before the Youth Forum begins - before you all start interacting with students, judging them and teaching them. We will cover topics like the curriculum, but also methods of teaching in an international environment, ins&outs of the Karl Popper format and the judging standards for the Karl Popper Debate Championship and Mixed Team Tournament.
