IDEA hosts workshop in Armenia

On 26 January, in the Aghveran resort in the countryside surrounding Yerevan, IDEA will be launching the next workshop in its Youth in the 21st Century program. Following on from highly successful programmes in Kyrgyzstan and Chiang Mai in 2011, Youth in the 21st Century Armenia will bring together aspiring journalists, youth activists and bloggers, for two weeks of instruction on film making, reporting and public speaking.

China Open 2012 announced

Willamette University, the International Debate Education Association, and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics proudly announce the Third Annual China Open to be held on May 25 - 27, 2012. The tournament will feature competition in three divisions: English and Mandarin divisions of British Parliamentary debate and an English division of Moot Court.

Call for Proposals: Online Debate!

The Open Society Foundations Youth Initiative requests proposals to develop and support online speech and debate competitions at www.idebate.org.

Online debating allows young people who might not have access or resources to attend live debate tournaments to participate in formal competitions, receive feedback from judges, and network with other debaters.
